Where I move towards design engineering, a step at a time.

I design and build these myself, in the same pass. When an hour turns up between other work I take something small, make the decision properly and ship it here, so the thinking is visible rather than described. Put each one through its states; the note beside it says what the behaviour is protecting, and the switch shows the code behind it.

Voice feedback

What the interface shows while someone is speaking.

Problem
Voice interfaces go blank while they listen. A spinner says the app is busy, not that it can hear you.
Solution
Six readings of one signal, so the feedback can fit the moment: proof the mic is open, the shape of a turn being recorded, something calm while the assistant thinks.

Event registration

A form that answers where you pressed, and celebrates on the whole screen.

Problem
The confirmation lands at the top of the page, where nobody is looking.
Solution
The button keeps its shape through all three states and answers in place, then gives itself back for the next one.

Presence

A room you can look into before you decide to enter it.

Problem
You join a voice room blind: who is in it, and whether you will be heard the moment you arrive.
Solution
The pill shows who is already talking before you commit; the panel shows the rest, and that the mic arrives off.

Undo

Saving that can be taken back, without being asked twice.

Problem
A confirmation on every small action costs more than the mistake it prevents.
Solution
The action happens at once and stays undoable for five seconds, shown as a closing window.

Ceiling

A limit that says what it is, instead of going grey.

Problem
How much is left turns up at checkout, when it is already a refusal.
Solution
The count is there while you are choosing, and the plus answers at the limit instead of going dead.

Rename

Editing in place, with a way back that costs nothing.

Problem
An edit mode and a Save button turn renaming into a procedure.
Solution
Edit in place: Enter commits, Escape restores, and looking away counts as a decision.
